Super Glue Your Intention

The Forever Wisdom of Manifesting "Super glue your intention."
Super Glue Your Intention

This is another quote from Wayne Dyer‘s CD program “The Forever Wisdom of Dr. Wayne Dyer“.

This part of the CD program goes over how you can make your intention (what you want in life) appear in your life. How you think about it, actions to do, etc. I bought the CD program from Hayhouse but I can only listen to it by logging into their site and would rather have bought it outright.d But the link I provided is for buying it outright from someone else on eBay.

This little quote is a nice little reminder for me to never give up on my dreams.

Surfing

You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf. - Joseph Goldstein
Surfing

Another quote that goes with the quote, “Go with the flow.” or “Don’t go against the grain.”

Many successful people look for opportunities in failures and turn the failures into success.

Not fighting what has happened (waves) but instead of learning how to use it instead (surf) will lead to a happier, healthy life.

Surround Yourself

Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don't see it yourself.
Surround Yourself

The thing that comes to mind when I read this quote is that in a few self-help and business books is that you have to be around positive people. People that won’t drag you down or tell you that it can’t be done. Unless you are one of those personalities that when told something can’t be done then it sparks a fire within you to give it your all to prove them wrong. Then it would be helpful.

Surrounding yourself with positive influencers, mentors, and friends help you get what you want to be accomplished done easier and faster. It is a good thing to have support. Doing it alone just makes things harder and no-one to share the joy with when you are done.

Thankful Quote

When asked if my cup is half-full or half-empty, my only response is that I am thankful I have a cup.
Thankful Quote

Being thankful and grateful on a regular basis will make your life so much happier. I just read an interview for Warren Buffet where he said that being grateful for everything in his life has made his life better.

If you think you have it rough just think of some people that have it rougher than you. It will build empathy and make your problems seem that much smaller. If people are grateful for what they have they will also feel rich inside.

“When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears” – Tony Robbins

This quote is somewhere in this gallery as well. The abundance mentioned in this quote does not mean that riches will fall down from the sky. It is meant to mean that once you are grateful and realize all that you have you will feel the abundance that is already in your life.

Enemies Inside of Us

There's no enemy outside our soul. The real enemies live inside us: Anger, Ego, Greed, and Hate. - e-buddhism.com
Enemies Inside of Us

This falls along the lines of nobody can make you angry without your permission or participation.

Every 100 years or so we are taught to say a different nationality is our enemy even though we may have never met someone from the country that they are from.

Anger, ego, greed, and hate can be controlled and these enemies are defeated. These emotions can come from outside sources if we let them in, but what if people try their hardest to invoke those emotions within us and fail? Are they really the enemy then?

The Goal of Meditation

The goal of meditation isn't to control your thoughts, it's to stop letting them control you. - The Age of Enlightenment
The Goal of Meditation

Thoughts. There are many types of meditation out there so it is impossible to say which one is right but instead, pick one that is right for you.

Some people try to clear their heads by allowing no thoughts enter and if they do they quietly dismiss it and go back to clearing their mind. In this emptiness and clearing answers and ideas come to them easier.

Others treat meditation as a brain-storming session and only focus on the end result or outcome and let ideas come to them one at a time while quietly dismissing or categorizing ideas as they come along.

Both of these meditations’ goals are similar to the quote. They both have the goal to control your thoughts instead of letting them control you.

“If you don’t control your thoughts, they will control you.”

The Key to Happiness

The key to happiness is letting each situation be what it is instead of what you think it should be. - FB/TheArtOfAncientWisdom
The Key to Happiness

This key to happiness quote comes from The Art of Ancient Wisdom that has excellent quotes online and I strongly suggest you follow this Facebook page.

If you can accept and understand the situation that you are in instead of thinking it should be another way you will find more peace.

Too many people go through life being unhappy because things don’t go as they wanted or expected it to be. Many people have to learn to let go and let God. She knows what she is doing. Sometimes if you look at the situation not going as you think it should have gone you will discover that there is a hidden purpose to help you. The universe unfolds as it should a lesson is to be learned at every turn and the situation not going the way you planned maybe the universe nudging you to take a closer look at yourself.

Be Better Than Yourself

The only person you should try to be better than, is the person you were yesterday.
Be Better Than Yourself

This quote sits well with me. Because if you want to better than someone else then all that does is create dis-ease. I have been known to be a very competitive person when playing a game but have found out that when I change the competitiveness to just bettering myself I wound up much happier. You can achieve your goals much easier when you try to better yourself every day. When you better yourself you will find that other goals that you have will be easier to reach whether it be financial, spiritual, or physical goals.

The Root of Suffering

The root of suffering is attachment.
Root of Suffering

This is a classic Buddhism quote. This also brings up the discussion of ‘Money is the root of all evil’ vs. ‘The Love of Money is the root of all evil’.

Is it possible to love someone or something without being attached to them or it? Yes, of course, but many people cannot see that fine line.

But if you are attached to someone does that mean that you love them less? No, it means that you love them as their own person and helps releases you from becoming needy and dependant upon someone else for your happiness.

There are many arguments over this quote. Many say that it is true and they are right. Many say that it isn’t true and they are right as well.

9 Things to give up if you want to be happy

9 Things to give up if you want to be happy: 1. The need for approval 2. The need to impress others 3. The need to always be right 4. Dwelling on the past 5. Resistance to change 6. Negative self-talk 7. Limiting beliefs 8. Blaming others 9. Complaining - tinybuddha.com
Things to Give Up to Become Happy

Here is a favorite list that I like to meditate on. It is a list that will help you live a happier life. If you give up on these nine things you will have a more peaceful life and bring more peace to the people around you.

You can spend a meditation session for one day on each of these on the list.

  1. The Need for Approval. If you are looking for approval outside of yourself you will never be happy. Just think about it one thing that you did will be approved by one person but not the next. “What other people think of you is none of your business.” If you feel what you did aligns with your spiritual self then that should be enough. You will never find the correct approval from outside of yourself. If you try to get approval from other people to make them happy you will never be happy yourself.
  2. The Need to Impress Others. Why do people do this? Most of the time people do this because they do not think too much of themselves and have low self-esteem so they want to take the easy way out and get quick recognition from others to make themselves feel better. The only trouble with this is that recognition does not last long and does not really solve the problem. You would really need to become a person that naturally impresses other people and you will find that when you are you will have no desire to impress others and are whole/complete inside.
  3. The Need to Always be Right. Wayne Dyer has said, “Would you rather be right or at peace?” One time I remember in high school I have gotten into a big argument with someone over the lyrics of a song. I started jotting them down and another student recognized the lyrics and said he liked that song but corrected me on what the lyrics were. But I was 100% positive what I wrote down was right, he was 100% right that his lyrics were right and what started out as a bonding experience turned into a heated argument that left bad feelings on both sides. Was it worth it to be right? I don’t think so.
  4. Dwelling on the Past. This is a bad one for me. Some people can handle it better than others though. Really, it happened in the past. It is done with, nothing can be done anymore about it except learn from it and move on. Read the Time and Money Quote to help you conquer this inner demon.
  5. Resistance to Change. When I read of this one I immediately thought of the book “Who moved my cheese?” by Spencer Johnson. One instance in this book a group of people were discussing their lives and one shared a story of the encyclopedia business his family was in where they were resisting change from paper to CDs and because of that they almost went out of business. Unfortunately, resistance to change is a common human reaction. This book has a duel story of two mice named Hem and Haw that go through the maze with their reactions to blocks along the way. The other part of the book is a group of people discussing the book and how it compares to their own lives. An excellent read to help you get rid of stumbling blocks.
  6. Negative Self-Talk. Why! Why fill yourself with negativity! Garbage in is garbage out. People do this on a constant basis and never feel fulfilled in life! Worse yet there are many people that do this out loud and are looking for self-pity.
  7. Limiting Beliefs. This reminds me of the quote from Michelangelo, “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” If you have limiting beliefs you can never achieve personal greatness. Do not think poorly of yourself but instead think of all the things you would be proud of what you have done, what you are capable of and you will get rid of your limiting self-beliefs. Focus is the key here.
  8. Blaming Others. Blaming others is a classic shift of responsibility. All this will do is keep you from fixing yourself and create anger and negativity with those around you. Especially the one that you blame. If you cannot accept responsibility and look inward you will live an unbalanced life and never take care of the true source of the problem.
  9. Complaining. Yes, you may want to vent to someone and complain to them and hope that you will find someone that is a good listener. In a Barbera De Angelis tape program about relationships the mistake men make when a woman comes to them with a problem is that they try to give suggestions on how to fix their question but all the woman really wants is somebody to listen to. They are not seeking answers. Yes, you may want reassurance and that will help you but sometimes complaining can become more strong than what it should be. Instead of complaining try thinking of what is good about this situation? It will help you focus on the positive and eventually help you solve the problem. Too many times people complain to others without looking within and realizing how minor it really is in the grand scheme of things. This inner-awareness will help you tremendously.
