Here is another quote on what was told to me to be the two important words for me at the time.
Acceptance and Understanding.
These two words beautifully go together. When joined these two words can solve many problems and many problems would not start if people just pondered on these two words.
I noticed that this quote was by Eric Greitens. Never heard of him so I looked him up and he sells some books. According to Wikipedia, this is what they say about him.
Eric Robert Greitens is an American politician, humanitarian, author, and former Navy SEAL who was the 56th governor of Missouri from January 2017 until his resignation in June 2018. Born and raised in St. Louis, Greitens received a doctorate from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, as a Rhodes scholar.
I never thought I would hear a politician say something like this!
I have to remind myself of this quote when dealing with some people.
It is better to be more forgiving of the mistakes of others and not get angry. After all, we are only human. It may sound like an easy cop-out but we are not flawless.
Once we fully realize that, accept that, and understand that we can live much happier lives instead of being angry for things not turning out the way you wanted them too.
I wanted to make sure I give credit to this quote. I like the way she thinks and only found one thing of hers on eBay but I was able to track down here website if you are interested in learning more about her.
Time does not really heal everything, does it? But over time the pain lessens at least. There is plenty of mind over matter books out there that show you, even though it is not socially acceptable, how that ultimately you have the power to get over anything in an instant. Acceptance, on the other hand, comes paired with understanding will heal everything in my opinion. I’m sure that people will disagree with that one because people can understand and accept something and still be in pain but if you are in 100% acceptance the pain will finally go away.
Here is another post about unconditional love. Remember that in order to gain accesptance you must first understand. Once you understand, acceptance comes easier, and when acceptance is easier then unconditional love becomes easier. If you like this quote then you will like my post on a similar quote. In this similar quote, I go over how important it is to love yourself more than someone else.
It says the quote is from Brian Tracy. At first, I thought he was from Hay House, but I was thinking of Reid Tracy. It turns out that Brian Tracy is some marketing guru for selling. I have never read any of his books but if you have please let me know how they are in the comments below. Hay House, on the other hand, I had purchased many things from them and highly recommend them!
Two words that came to me during a particularly deep meditation were acceptance and understanding. I was told that these words are the most important words for me and this quote by JK Rowling sums it up perfectly.
How many times did you or someone you know ‘flew off the handle’ and started yelling before finding out the whole story? Before anyone reacts they should have a full understanding of the situation so no wrong conclusions are drawn.
When you are faced in a very difficult situation perhaps at work for an example. You may automatically judge someone to be an A-Hole but if you have an understanding about he or she’s background to learn why they act the way they do then you will be able to have a better acceptance of the situation. This example is similar to another quote, “Never criticize a man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.”
I remember reading this story in Reader’s Digest about a very grumpy woman that called a cab every other day to get to an appointment. The dispatch would always give the call to the same taxi driver and he always did not look forward to picking up this woman. The same thing happened every day that he drove her. She would be very negative, complain about everything, nothing was ever good enough, etc. The driver would try to keep from getting angry and block it out.
Then one day he wondered why she was the woman that she was and started asking questions and talking to her in a polite manner. He found out that she was on kidney dialysis and that is why she was always in a bad mood. They actually became friends and the taxi driver told her that he was going to the hospital to see if he was a suitable donor for the woman. When the tests were done he found out that he could donate a kidney to the woman and he did. Reader’s Digest was notified of the story and published it.
This quote by Eckhart Tolle is a good one. I am not sure if it is from the book, “The Power of Now” or not but it is a quote that makes you think twice and re-read it.
When reading this quote I first thought what if what I accepted is about the negative in life then I realized that fully accepting something even if it is negative puts a lot of pressure aside and it feels like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. You no longer have thoughts like, “How could she/he do this to me!” and “Now what am I going to do!”. Instead, your mind will accept it and you will find that your mind will switch a flip and start thinking of ways to solve it instead of coming up with ways to make yourself feel even more awful. While deep in a meditiation I was told that the two most important words were acceptance and understanding. They may not be the best words for you but I have found to help with my own self issues and to better myself, they are the best words for me.
I would recommend sitting down and meditating and let your mind go blank and notice where your mind wanders too. Is it a good place or a bad place? Notice that, accept it, understand it, then let it go and go back to leaving your mind blank. When your mind wanders again repeat the procedure and try to go a little longer the next time before your mind wanders. Eventually, with practice, you will be able to sit still long and quiet enough that the universe/God will speak to you and give you what words are the best for you.
