Eyes Useless When Mind is Blind

The eyes are useless when the mind is blind...
Sight

This is a nice little reminder showing me that some people even when shown the facts right in front of their faces that they still cannot see it if their mind is not open. It is like the play on words the book Wayne Dyer wrote, “You’ll See It When You Believe It: The Way to Your Personal Transformation” instead of you’ll believe it when you see it.

It also reminds me of the lyrics from the song “Casey Jones” from the Grateful Dead. “Trouble with you is. The trouble with me. Got two good eyes. But we still don’t see.”

How am I creating this?

If things are not working, ask yourself, "In what way am I creating this? In what way can I change?"
How am I creating this?

This quote from Wayne Dyer has always been debated by people especially when people have been abused, raped, etc.

People often asked how can you be responsible if someone rapes you! What he meant though was if you are negative in life you will attract negativity in life. Nothing easily detected is the cause of misfortune in your life. There was another story I read about this woman that was about to be raped and all she did was apply Wayne Dyer’s advice and sent him love and asked him questions and said she would pray for him and found out the difficulties that he was going through that led him to this point. He ended up not raping her after their little conversion.

I know this quote is highly debatable so that is why I shared this story. She may or may not have attracted this into her life but she definitely could change it. If you can imagine yourself in this situation you can imagine how strong of a woman this was.

Ending Conflict

Conflict cannot survive without your participation. - Wayne Dyer
Ending Conflict

This quote by Wayne Dyer reminds me of bullies on the school playground. Bullies have fun making fun of people because of the entertainment they receive by getting a rise out of you.

What I noticed from those experiences is that the ones that do not let what the bullies do and say bother them and go about their business are the ones that the bullies have a tendency to leave alone. They simply were not having ‘fun’ with them. Thus, conflict cannot survive without your participation.

I used to think I was more mature than others because I did not see any point in bullying but my mother taught me the reality that I was not mature because I let bullying get to me. My father would just let things’ roll off of him’ and nothing much seemed to bother him. That was his strength that I tried to emulate. My brother went through the same hell as me when going through school and he grew up to be a very mean sarcastic person. I, on the other hand, though thought I would never treat people like how they treated me. I was told otherwise that I could be mean and bully-ish as well. Bringing out the prospect of nature vs. nurture theory again.

Arguments, bullying, grief, etc. can be eradicated or halved by simply not participating.

I am Grateful

Today I am grateful, for all the people that are loving and kind to me.
I am Grateful

Gratefulness is a subject that is mentioned quite a few times on this website, online, and courses.

If you are truly grateful for what you have your life will be more abundant and you will have less ‘desire’ for wanting more ‘stuff’.

It recommended by Wayne Dyer to have one meditation a day on everything that you are grateful for and have another meditation on manifesting what you want in your life. The meditation CD that Wayne talks about this is called, “Meditations for Manifesting” but it first came about from his Japa Meditation.

I highly recommend this meditation tape to listen to along with the much longer detailed course, “Manifest Your Destiny“. If you allow it, it will help change your life for the better and give you a better outlook on life. I go back and re-listen to it from time to time and it is one of those courses that will give you something new to learn every time because of what was going on in your life at the time.

Enlightenment

If I could define enlightenment briefly I would say it is the quiet acceptance of what is. - Wayne Dyer
Enlightenment

This quote by Wayne Dyer I am not sure if I agree with or not. As a very brief definition, it may suffice, but enlightenment is a very funny thing to define.

It has been a very closely guarded secret as to what it is exactly. Over the centuries it has been described very vaguely and not what happens exactly. For example, in one book it talks about how the student was stricken by a ruler then enlightenment struck him! The reason I hypothesize for them not explaining enlightenment in detail is that if you knew what it is going to be like exactly you will never know for sure if you attained enlightenment.

It is an incredible experience that when it happens your whole world changes and I don’t know about you but if I experience something almost unbelievable and magical and then read about the experience later it is more believable to me. I know that the experience REALLY did happen instead of manifested itself from my sub-conscience mind. An example of this is while meditating I felt a cold spot in the room then followed it around for a while then sat still and relaxed my eyes and saw a beam of light coming from the area. The funny thing about this beam of light is that it CURVED! I never heard or read about anything like that before but read about it in a book later about it being a sort of portal from another dimension. For something as incredible as this it was almost unbelievable if I didn’t see it with my own eyes and if I had read about it first I would second guess myself if I really did see it or imagine it from the book that I read.

The book, “The Three Pillars of Zen” is the first book that described enlightenment in great detail on what it really is like. I had achieved enlightenment and it was a most incredible experience for me. To the point of the complete understanding that I received when I looked out the window and saw a woman sweeping the sidewalk outside, I started to cry because I saw how beautiful it really was. I was connected to everything and did not have any unanswered questions at all. I was aware of the past, present, and future at the same time briefly (about six hours) and saw myself in everything and how we were all connected. I thought I had started to be driven mad until I read someone else having the same experience in the book, “Hardcore Zen” written by Brad Warner who surprisingly was a punk rocker.

Unfortunately, once this enlightenment was over I was back to being a human force and wish I could stay that way forever. I suppose being a spiritual being having a human experience limits this but at least I know what it will be like once this body dies. Even though I do not agree 100% on this quote I do know that it will bring you a more peaceful life.

Love Yourself

If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another. - Buddha
Love Yourself

This quote from the Buddha really ties in with the last post that was written that was named “Love Yourself” as well.

In that post by Wayne Dyer it talks about how that if you truly love yourself then the actions of others won’t affect our emotions and to use forgiveness to help do that.

This quote though states that if you truly love yourself you could never hurt another. So combining these two quotes leaves out everything, doesn’t it?

Buddha’s quote says that if you loved yourself you could never hurt another and Wayne Dyer’s quote says that if you loved yourself you could never feel hurt. I thought it was interesting seeing both of these quotes so I will add it below.

When we love ourselves, we refuse to allow others to manage our emotions from afar. Forgiveness is our means to that end. - Dr. Wayne Dyer
Love Yourself

Love Yourself

When we love ourselves, we refuse to allow others to manage our emotions from afar. Forgiveness is our means to that end. - Dr. Wayne Dyer
Love Yourself

Before you can love another you have to love yourself is a common quote too. Wayne Dyer’s quote here suggests that if we truly love ourselves then any negativity thrown our way would not affect us later. It says ‘from afar’ almost giving us permission for others to ‘manage our emotions’ at the moment it happens which I could accept easier.

Is it really possible not to let other people’s actions to not affect your emotions? Right away I want to say no! But then I remember my dad. It seemed nothing bothered him and he always told me to just brush it off and was surprised that I could not do it as easy as him. Does this mean I don’t love myself enough and he did? I know I would find it very difficult to look in the mirror and say ‘I love you’ to myself.

Do you think you love yourself enough to not let others control/manage your emotions? You may think that there are other things that factor in but if you really think about it if you keep simplifying and breaking down the factors you are left with only factors. Love and hate.

I almost forgot about the forgiveness part. If you love yourself you have to allow yourself to forgive. Maybe that goes hand in hand. People, that have difficulty forgiving probably do not love themselves? Do you think this is true?

Opportunities

"Look at every obstacle as an opportunity." - Dr. Wayne Dyer
Opportunities

This Wayne Dyer quote reminds me of some success stories that I read in a Tony Robbins book.

The invention of the stick-it notepad was the result of a failure. The man was trying to develop a glue that would hold anything but ended up with something that hardly stuck at all for strength.

Instead of asking himself the wrong questions and getting himself into a frenzy he asked himself, “How could this be useful?”

By asking himself the right questions his brain came up with the answer. If he had asked himself, “Why am I a failure?” his brain would have came up with reasons why and that would throw him into a frenzy.

If any obstacles come your way think to yourself how can I turn this into an opportunity instead.

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking isn't about expecting the best to happen every time, it is about accepting that whatever happens is the best for that moment.
Positive Thinking

Unlike the quote from ‘Positive Thoughts,’ this one is not about attraction but rather about acceptance.

There have been too many times in life when something happens to make you think this is not what was supposed to happen.

Wayne Dyer related a story where he was to talk on a station where the format was getting changed and that everyone was told that was their last day. People thought this was horrible but many of them did not realize that this was the best for that moment and instead of being in a job they did not enjoy they ended up starting their dream business, writing an opera, or getting the job they really wanted. God had to give them a kick in the butt to get them going.
